About Us
CEMPAKA PERFORMING ARTS COMPANY
Founded in 2002, CPAC was established to provide quality performing arts education within Cempaka Schools. Over the years, the company has grown to encompass the full spectrum of event and theatre production, including artistic direction, planning, training, rehearsals, and staging.
With an impressive record of professional-level musical theatre productions, CPAC has successfully staged numerous acclaimed titles, such as West Side Story, Seussical, Hairspray, Legally Blonde, Happy Days, School of Rock, The Little Mermaid, and Tarzan.
In 2017, CPAC took a bold creative leap with Alice’s Wonderland — its first original musical, featuring an entirely new script, music, and lyrics. This landmark achievement earned Cempaka Schools recognition in the Malaysia Book of Records as the first school to stage an original musical at a professional level.
Building on this success, CPAC continued to develop original works, producing Dames & Dimes, the Musical (2019) and Spooks, the Musical (2023). Both productions were honoured at the BOH Cameronian Arts Awards, winning accolades in the Musical Theatre category.
Beyond theatre, CPAC also manages national and international events and festivals, showcasing its performers in Singapore, Indonesia, Australia, Mauritius, Europe, the UK, and the United States.
In addition to school-based programmes, CPAC offers public performing arts programmes, providing opportunities for aspiring performers to develop their talents under professional guidance.

Performing Arts Education
Cempaka Schools was the first school to make performing arts compulsory and it forms part of the mainstream curriculum.
CPAC was engaged to manage the performing arts programme in Cempaka Schools. Every student will learn at least one musical instrument, attend vocal and theatre classes, and also, to dance. Group instrumental classes include piano, violin, recorder and clarinet.
We also offer additional programmes such as ballet, traditional dance, creative and modern jazz dances, early childhood music classes, harp ensemble and one-to-one instruction for piano, violin, clarinet, harp, vocal and drums.
Other opportunities include participation in concerts, competitions, festivals, workshops and an annual musical which is the highlight of the
year in Cempaka.
