About Us

CEMPAKA PERFORMING ARTS COMPANY

CPAC was established in 2002, primarily to provide performing arts education in Cempaka Schools. The company also handles the production of events, concerts and musicals. This includes creative direction, planning, training, rehearsals and ultimately, staging the event.

With an impressive track record of professional standard musical theatre productions since 2005, CPAC has done West Side Story, Seussical, Hairspray, Legally Blonde and Tarzan, to name a few. The company took a huge step forward by writing new music & lyrics and producing Alice’s Wonderland. The premiere performance of this musical was in 2017 at the North Hall Theatre of Cempaka Schools. This endeavour earned Cempaka Schools recognition in the Malaysia Book of Records for being the first school to stage an original musical at a professional level. This path led on to two other new musicals – Dames & Dimes, the Musical (2019) and Spooks, the Musical (2023). Both were recognised and won awards under the Musical Theatre Category in the Boh Cameronian Arts Awards.

CPAC also manages events (festivals & other performances) at National and International levels. They have brought performers to Singapore, Indonesia, Australia, Europe, UK and the United States to participate in festivals and competitions. The company has performing arts programmes which are opened to public.
