Drusilla the half human, half vampire teenage daughter of Count Dracula returns to the monster realm to attend school at Transylvania High. There, she meets her spooky classmates, Stitches, Raven, Howl and the Carnival Queen, Countess Estrella. She soon learns that she doesn’t fit in, but there is a more threatening problem, as a villain lurks in the shadows seeking revenge upon Dracula and his family.
Established in the year 2000 as a performing arts company, CPAC ventured into musical theatre productions and has been staging full-scale musicals since 2005. West Side Story, Fame, Seussical, Hairspray, Tarzan, Annie and Legally Blonde are among the titles before producing the first original musical, CPAC’s Alice Wonderland and earned recognition in the Malaysia Book of Records. Other musical production awards include BOH Cameronian Arts Awards for Annie (2015) and The Wedding Singer (2014). Dames & Dimes, another CPAC original musical, which premiered in 2019, received a 5-star rating by London’s Musical Theatre Academy. This year’s Spooks, the Musical will be CPAC’s third original musical while the fourth title is in pre-production.
British writer and director, Scott McQuaid has produced work for stage and screen in Britain, America, Japan, Hong Kong and Malaysia. holds a Bachelor degree in Performing Arts and a Master of Fine Arts degree in film making. For the past ten years he has been the resident director at CPAC. During this time, he has directed numerous plays and musicals that have earned various arts awards. Scott’s credits include Seussical, Hairspray, Tarzan, The Wedding Singer, About Last Night, Annie, The Butler Did It, Legally Blonde, Angry Pyjamas, The Mistress of Wholesome, My Zombie Ex, Alice’s Wonderland, Sherlock Holmes in The Show Must Go On!, Happy Days, Dames & Dimes, Lemonade Psychos, Sherlock Holmes in the Missing Script and the international movie Space Ninjas.
Nick Choo is an accomplished resident KL composer with multiple award-winning musicals at the Short+Sweet festival and a BOH Cameronian Arts Award for his own original musical, The Edge. Nick has worked with various directors and theatre companies producing the following credits: Zak Zebra’s African Safari, staged in Kuala Lumpur, Australia and South Korea. SIBKL’s Esya: The Musical and his original Christmas musical Follow The Light. Nick first collaborated with CPAC on their first original musical Alice’s Wonderland in 2017 and again later in 2019’s original musical, Dames & Dimes. He’s most recent project was the musical Lost & Found that toured Malaysia and he now returns to partner again with CPAC on the new musical Spooks.
